Imagine being part of a political system, and a local government where the Mayor himself has not blocked the Chairman of his Opposing party.

Imaging being able to both offer and receive criticism, and to converse with an elected man on matters of the City when your position is such that if supports it, without having to resort to intermediaries and 3rd parties, all because of an old, senile man's hurt feelings.

Imagine having to work with people who are willing to take criticism and process it and do not react to their critics by creating an echo chamber of "see no evil, hear no evil".

Imagine that, because I sure as hell cannot.

Someone recently asked me if I planned to debate or hold a meeting with Garrett Baker, my opponent in the city council election.

I want to be clear: I am always ready to engage in open and honest debate, to confront the issues our district faces head-on. However, Garrett has been conspicuously silent. It's hard to reach someone who seems to avoid public scrutiny and direct communication with the constituents he seeks to represent.

Furthermore, it's become increasingly apparent that Garrett Baker chooses to show up only during carefully staged PR events, where the tough questions are avoided and the real issues facing our community are left unaddressed. This selective visibility raises serious questions about his commitment to transparency and accountability. Is this the kind of leadership we want for our Central District? If Garrett is this silent now, when our community is looking for answers and direction, how can we expect him to act when he's in City Council?

Our district deserves a representative who is accessible, transparent, and actively involved in the community—someone who doesn't shy away from the tough conversations but embraces them for the betterment of our district.

I am committed to being that representative for you. I will ensure our voices are heard and our concerns are addressed. Let's choose leadership that stands with us, not silence that stands apart.

Central District, I urge you to vote Olivia Zhao in the upcoming election. I’m ready to fight for you.

Democratic Senator (and Minority Leader) Diana Jones, upon hearing the news of the underfunding situation in Davis High, immediately drafted and submitted Bill no. 149 - "Emergency Department of Education Q1 Appropriations Act of 2024"

During her presentation of the bill, the following information is provided:

- Based on the previous Quarter's Budget (October to December 2023), Davis High School is a state funded public school, therefore it is not the City's responsibility to fund, but the State's.
- In the last Quarter's Budget a number of errors existed. One of them is that the requested sum for Davis High School's Funding was set to "0 dollars".
- While the reasons behind this omission are being investigated, it is of utmost importance to make sure the teachers and Faculty of Davis High are paid what they are due.

If there are no opposing voices within 24 hours, the bill will be passed unanimously. A unanimous passing of the bill means that the necessary funds can be dispersed within 48 hours from the time of this writing, thus giving us time to investigate the reasons behind this grave omission.

On behalf of the Democratic Party of San Andreas, we would like to THANK all those who have voiced their support and concern on this matter, as well as Mrs. Clary who took the time and effort for this initiative. Teachers should never be left underfunded or unpaid.
