Late last night on the corner of Legion Square, Deputy Palmer and Investigator Takomoto from from DMEC were seen standing over the body of a young black woman beside a white truck. Upon closer inspection using the ID in her wallet, the deceased individual was identified to be Ora Carter, LSNN's well known weather presenter. She was declared dead by the coroner at 10:08PM on the 24th of May, 2023. While an official autopsy report, it was identified that the likely cause of Ora's death was severe blunt force trauma to her head, possibly resulting in brain injury leading to her death. No official statement was given thus far, but it was apparent that responders were treating the death as suspicious.

The events leading up to Ora Carter's death possibly shed some light on her untimely passing. According to one source, Carter had been making unusual moves in her life. Apparently she had tried to set up some individuals from Davis and had attempted to 'rat them out' to the DA's office. However, allegedly both the DA's office and Carter failed to keep the incident secret or provide any information of value. Following this Ora went into hiding in the county, around Sandy Shores, a predominantly white area. Just three days prior to her death, Carter made a call from Sandy Shores over a matter of "life or death", seeming to be wanting immediate extraction or assistance. However Carter was not forthcoming about the details of why she had made the call. Over the last three days, as well, Carter had been seen present at various incidents that law enforcement attended as an involved party. Some residents in Sandy Shores say she had been operating around the area as a weed dealer known by the alias 'Diamond'. Her last movements before her death remain shrouded in mystery for the time being.
