  • It is with a heavy heart that we are informing you of the passing of our colleague and friend, Advanced Practitioner Nicholas Richmond, on the 20th of June 2024 at roughly 02:41AM, in the line of duty.

Born in 1995, Richmond was a Los Santos local. He graduated from the University of Los Santos as a Physician's Assistant in 2018, beginning his career at Mount Zonah Medical Center, before he would begin work at the Los Santos Fire Department in 2020. He brought not only his extensive medical knowledge, but his unwavering commitment to serving those in need. Throughout the years, he became a cornerstone of our team as an Advanced Provider, going above and beyond the call of duty.

His family and his colleagues remember him as a beacon of hope and a source of strength when times got tough. Whether he was providing critical care to a patient in the back of the ambulance, providing support during a fire, or offering comforting words to distressed family members, Richmond demonstrated an extraordinary level of empathy and professionalism. With his quick thinking and expert level of care, he has undoubtedly saved many lives, and his impact on the community is immeasurable.

Outside of his professional duties, Richmond is known for his warm heart, his infectious smile, and his ability to lift the spirits of everyone around him. He was a loving friend, a devoted family member, and a mentor to many aspiring medical professionals. He is survived by his wife and two children.

On behalf of the Los Santos Fire Department, we send our deepest condolences to Richmond's family during this time. The legacy he has built wont be forgotten.

  • It is with great sorrow, we mourn the loss of EMS Captain John Vaitkus who was a loyal public servant to the citizens of Los Santos and to the State of San Andreas. On April 12th, 2024, Captain John Vaitkus responded to his final tone at approximately 21:15.

Born in 1996 in Chicago, Captain John Vaitkus was the son of a proud Lithuanian immigrant family. John embodied the spirit and dedication that defined his life. After completing his education, John relocated to Liberty City, where he began his distinguished career in emergency services, serving as an EMT with the Liberty City Fire Department. His commitment to helping others never went unseen throughout his three years. He would later transfer to the Los Santos Fire Department, and his fire to continue serving the community wouldn't die. It was here, John's leadership qualities and relentless drive that propelled him to become a Captain. Beloved by his colleagues, Captain Vaitkus was known as a firm, kind, and compassionate firefighter and paramedic. He was a mentor to many, he never hesitated to share his knowledge and his experience. With his unwavering dedication, John cemented himself as a cornerstone of not only the department, but as a beloved member of the community he served. Without a doubt, John's loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Captain John Vaitkus, on behalf of the Los Santos Fire Department, the citizens of Los Santos, and the State of San Andreas, we thank you for your many years of dedication to this department, to this city, and the community that you served. We've have it from here, John.

"We may choose to be reminded of the pain their departure left us. Or we may choose to celebrate the days we spent together. Captain John Vaitkus, as you may all agree, would surely choose the second. Were he here, he'd be asking you all- ... Why those faces? The answer to that question, I'll let each of you to decide. Deep in your hearts. As for me? I will choose my service to this community as my personal answer." - Deputy Chief Andrew Romero
