It is with great sorrow, we mourn the loss of EMS Captain John Vaitkus who was a loyal public servant to the citizens of Los Santos and to the State of San Andreas. On April 12th, 2024, Captain John Vaitkus responded to his final tone at approximately 21:15.

Born in 1996 in Chicago, Captain John Vaitkus was the son of a proud Lithuanian immigrant family. John embodied the spirit and dedication that defined his life. After completing his education, John relocated to Liberty City, where he began his distinguished career in emergency services, serving as an EMT with the Liberty City Fire Department. His commitment to helping others never went unseen throughout his three years. He would later transfer to the Los Santos Fire Department, and his fire to continue serving the community wouldn't die. It was here, John's leadership qualities and relentless drive that propelled him to become a Captain. Beloved by his colleagues, Captain Vaitkus was known as a firm, kind, and compassionate firefighter and paramedic. He was a mentor to many, he never hesitated to share his knowledge and his experience. With his unwavering dedication, John cemented himself as a cornerstone of not only the department, but as a beloved member of the community he served. Without a doubt, John's loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Captain John Vaitkus, on behalf of the Los Santos Fire Department, the citizens of Los Santos, and the State of San Andreas, we thank you for your many years of dedication to this department, to this city, and the community that you served. We've have it from here, John.

"We may choose to be reminded of the pain their departure left us. Or we may choose to celebrate the days we spent together. Captain John Vaitkus, as you may all agree, would surely choose the second. Were he here, he'd be asking you all- ... Why those faces? The answer to that question, I'll let each of you to decide. Deep in your hearts. As for me? I will choose my service to this community as my personal answer." - Deputy Chief Andrew Romero

  • Thanks to all those that attended our Blood Drive in the evening. Together we were able to gather about 70 pints of blood, which can help save up to 210 lives! Shout out to our partners at the Los Santos Police Department, Pillbox Hill Medical Center, and the Los Santos Sheriff's Department for assisting us. And an even more special shout out to the University of Los Santos, San Andreas for allowing us to use their sports field. We hope to see you at the next event!
