To the People of Los Santos,
In response to the recent outrage expressed by Mayor Hank Preston and members of the city and state governments, we at the Los Santos Tribune will not back down from addressing the real issue: the complete failure of our public institutions to protect their citizens when it mattered most.
Let us be clear. Our decision to pay the ransom was not made lightly. We reached out to 911 multiple times, expecting a prompt response from the authorities, but were met with silence. By the time law enforcement finally responded, the victim’s life had been hanging in the balance for too long. The Tribune stepped in when no one else did.
We refuse to apologize for doing what was necessary to save a life when the system failed. The people of Los Santos deserve more than bureaucratic excuses and delayed action. We will not stand by while government officials point fingers at the Tribune for taking swift action, when the reality is that their lack of urgency put an innocent life at greater risk.
This situation is not just about one ransom, it's about the broader failure of our leaders to act when the people need them most. We will continue to report the truth, expose incompetence where we find it, and ensure that the voices of those failed by the system are heard.
The Los Santos Tribune stands firm in our values: impartiality, truth, and the responsibility to the citizens of this city. We were there when the government wasn't, and we will continue to hold them accountable for every life left in jeopardy due to their inaction.
This is your city, and this is your Tribune. We will never stop fighting for the truth.
Sincerely,
The Los Santos Tribune
