Poor escalation is what it is. No phone call despite my number being public record. No audit request with the Department of Finance. No formal request or subpoena regarding official records. Just instant door-kicking over a hunch, only to find absolutely nothing. An attempt to sway public perception against the most transparent charity this town has ever seen. A gross miscarriage of justice.

A councilwoman and her husband who is the former Mayor of Los Santos had their home raided, it wasn’t an active shooter situation, not a terrorist threat, there was no hostage crisis, there’s no talk of organized crime or drug cartels, only an alleged financial crime; white-collar. Why was the Sheriff’s Department’s call to perform a military-like raid with battering rams, armored vehicles, deputies in tactical gear with assault rifles in hand?
We reserve these kinds of tactics for situations where lives are on the line and there’s a genuine risk of violence. Here? We’re storming the home of an elected official and her spouse who could not possibly be reasonably perceived as a threat. What is it about a councilwoman and an ex-mayor spouse that justifies this response? Where’s the threat to life? The intimidation factor?
This is not a proportional use of force and it’s a very alarming misuse of the badge, a failure to protect and serve. The Sheriff’s Department has chosen shock and awe to paint a public perception over a charity that supports those in need to make a public example, displaying a theatrical power game with a goal that ignores justice and heads straight toward intimidation and puts lives at risk, not to mention the associated taxpayer cost.
