4th July, 2022 - Officers respond to a call for service in the Vespucci Canals area of a woman unresponsive in her home. Officers made contact and established that the occupant was being held at gunpoint by two individuals. A hostage situation begun, prompting a SWAT response, along with officers from the Metro K-9 Platoon. SWAT Crisis Negotiation Team personnel begun negotiations with the subjects, eventually prompting them to surrender peacefully. They were taken into custody without injury and two handguns were recovered. 09/MAY/22, 21:50 hours. An active shooter in the Little Seoul area turned into an armed barricaded when a male subject killed three persons and fled into an unoccupied apartment on the third floor of a complex. Special Weapons and Tactics (D Platoon) were called to the scene, tracked the subject to the target apartment, contained it, and then began negotiations. D Platoon were supported by LSFD TEMS Paramedics during the scene. 02/MAY, 2022, 23:10, Mission Row Police Station - D Platoon (SWAT) were called to an armed hostage situation in the lobby of the Mission Row Community Police Station. Upon arrival it was determined that an unstable female individual had taken a citizen hostage with a handgun, and was threatening harm. Negotiations began in conjunction with on-scene Detectives familiar with the subject. April 8, 2022 - Early in the Morning an unstable male subject armed with a handgun evaded officers in a postal truck before eventually stopping at the Davis LTD gas station. Here, the subject entered and took the clerk hostage at gunpoint. A hostage situation response was initiated by LSPD and members of the LSPD SWAT team as well as K9 platoon began containment and negotiations. The subject was extremely unhinged and fired numerous bullets through the store window at police from a position of cover while negotiations continued. Eventually, a SWAT marksman neutralised the subject when they attempted to shoot at officers outside the building after emerging from cover.
