And to round off our training recap is today's Advanced Swat School session: Aerial Platform Training. SWAT Officers (D Platoon) teamed up with pilots from the Air Support Division's Special Flight Section to practice a variety of aerial manoeuvres and missions, ranging from high risk aerial insertions onto buildings, rough terrain or the ground both via rappelling and "hot jumping" while hovering above the ground. Operators also gained familiarity and experience shooting from an aerial platform, with both select fire and marsksman rifles. This evening a number of D Platoon (SWAT) operators attended their advanced SWAT school course on marksman rifle deployment, learning to shoot with precision rifles, work in sniper-spotter teams, identify targets, and communicate effectively with non-sniper teams.
