  • Someone recently asked me if I planned to debate or hold a meeting with Garrett Baker, my opponent in the city council election.

I want to be clear: I am always ready to engage in open and honest debate, to confront the issues our district faces head-on. However, Garrett has been conspicuously silent. It's hard to reach someone who seems to avoid public scrutiny and direct communication with the constituents he seeks to represent.

Furthermore, it's become increasingly apparent that Garrett Baker chooses to show up only during carefully staged PR events, where the tough questions are avoided and the real issues facing our community are left unaddressed. This selective visibility raises serious questions about his commitment to transparency and accountability. Is this the kind of leadership we want for our Central District? If Garrett is this silent now, when our community is looking for answers and direction, how can we expect him to act when he's in City Council?

Our district deserves a representative who is accessible, transparent, and actively involved in the community—someone who doesn't shy away from the tough conversations but embraces them for the betterment of our district.

I am committed to being that representative for you. I will ensure our voices are heard and our concerns are addressed. Let's choose leadership that stands with us, not silence that stands apart.

Central District, I urge you to vote Olivia Zhao in the upcoming election. I’m ready to fight for you.

Someone asked me yesterday why I don't have bodyguards as I'm a public figure now and I have one statement for this. I'm not afraid of our citizens and trust them. I see no need to waste money on frivolous bodyguards when that money could go back into the communities some people fear.

Vote Democrat Sophie Wu for honesty and fairness. Something our political scene needs.

  • Hello, Los Santos! I'm new to Facebrowser so forgive me for the long post, but I thought I should introduce myself.

I'm Olivia Zhao, and I'm here to bring a fresh perspective to our City Council. Growing up in an immigrant family taught me resilience and the power of community. I excelled in subjects related to change and justice, and I used my education to fight for a better future. With scholarships and part-time jobs, I earned a degree in political science and worked with non-profits to advocate for urban rejuvenation and social equity. Outside of my advocacy work, I'm a boxer, which has taught me discipline and resilience. I'm running for City Council to bring positive change to our streets, turning challenges into triumphs. I aim to make Los Santos a city where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed.

My Vision for Los Santos: I stand for practical, impactful policies that resonate with the real needs of our people. Some initiatives I am focused on are:

    - Economic Development Grants: Securing grants and funding for local businesses, especially startups and small enterprises.

    - Affordable Housing Initiatives: Policies to increase affordable housing, as well as providing more opportunities for it, to put an end to homelessness.

    - Oversight Committee for Law Enforcement: Strengthening transparency and accountability by working on our current oversight committee.

    - Zero Tolerance for Corruption: Holding officers accountable while also supporting officers with support.
    - Youth Engagement Programs: Nurturing future leaders.

    - Public Health Initiatives: Improving healthcare and mental health resources.

    - Economic Opportunities: Creating job opportunities in neighborhoods affected by gang activity is a priority. We'll focus on economic development that offers a viable alternative to gang involvement.

    - Legal Aid for Fair Treatment: I want to find ways to provide access to cheaper legal support for those unfairly targeted by the law due to their ethnicity and/or socio-economic status. This includes legal aid and advocating for just treatment under the law. People deserve second chances, but when they cannot afford legal aid, the system is broken.

Join me on this journey. A journey to transform Los Santos into a city of hope, opportunity, and progress.
