  • RACE REPORT 10/12/2023 🏁

Another Sunday of racing for the Crowex family as Eric Martini and Francis Winters harness up for two races that would push the pair to their limits so far this season. Time to close your eyes and imagine, imagine the underground raceway that is Cannonball on a Sunday afternoon. Round FOUR of the Cannonball Stock Car Championship Season Two!

QUALIFYING - Martini comes out with a very respectable P3, whilst his young teammate scores POLE POSITION. The top 3 separated by a TENTH of a second, it is almost impossible to guess who would place where. Cars are flying around the track, setting fast laps upon qualifying. The second race grid positions ride solely on what can be done in this first race!

RACE ONE - Dramatic, a race that will see red flags on course as well as a fire engine and ambulance driving on the track. The red lights go out and Francis makes a giant leap forwards in terms of creating a gap to the rest of the pack, he has clean air. Martini battles for P2 in the first few corners, gaining the position and sitting right behind his teammate. Last race we saw the Crowex boys struggle, is it finally time to get back some of those points WeMotorsport stole? Avis pulls from P4 into P3, she's right on the tail of Martini, Martini pushing Winters. The top three forcing Crowex into making a decision about team orders - will Winters let his veteran teammate past, is the Crew Chief going to let them fight it out on track? Six minutes into twenty, Eric struggling to cat Francis as Avis and Quinten fight for P3, giving Eric a gap - Francis receives a verbal warning for exceeding track limits, Eric advances on him at this, closing the gap. Did Francis get nervous? Team orders are heard over the radio frequency, "Please let Eric past, let's not lose too much time fighting". Francis lets his team mate through and Avis is right on their tail. Martini then pulling away in P1, there is no debate that the clean air makes a race - Winters is fighting for his P2, embarking into full defense mode. The track is RED FLAGGED, crash at turn 12! Safety car out, cars to pits for restart. After almost 40 minutes, one fire engine and one ambulance, the race restarts with 8 minutes on the clock. Another full course yellow, just THIRTY SECONDS into the restart, the end of the safety car seeing Francis lose his P2, has he got enough time to fight back for it?! ANOTHER RED FLAG. Car straight into a barrier, the team losing hope of that 1, 2 on the podium as frustrations rise. The final restart for the first race sees Martini trying to slow Miller down in P2 to allow his team to execute an overtake, but on the second to last lap, disaster! Winters is P1, Martini P3?! Later we find out how Miller had crashed into Martini on a turn in a misjudgment driving error, causing the pair to spin out and ultimately cost their race. Winters takes the P1 for the team! Scoring some serious points!

RACE TWO - After such a dramatic end to race one, we see race to start with Winters in P2 and Eric P3. Red lights are out and Winters launches perfectly into first, taking a much needed gap to the field as Martini and Miller fight for that P2 all over again. Winters, Miller, Martini. A sudden yellow flag brings the pack together at 40mph, the restart shows the pack creating gaps and throwing the cars into corners, desperate for those points. Miller hits the wall, the car continues but at what cost? The boys battle out ferociously as they lap the track time and time again. The chequred flag leaves the team with Winters in P1 and Martini P4 - An INCREDIBLE drive from our young driver in that #3 car that has just been awarded "Rookie of the year" for his season just gone in another series. More to come on that, though! Congrats Francis Winters - outstanding drive and some valuable points for both him and the team as they fight for the constructors championship once more!

We are family. We are Crowex.

  • On November 21st of 2023; the San Andreas Aviation Administration issued an official letter to discontinue 'Motor Vehicle Contest' activity on the Sandy Shores Airfield.
This letter came following a meeting with the Aviation Administration's Legal Affairs team and the Board of Directors.
The Aviation Administration issued the letter to cease and desist following the re-examination of the contract, which the second party failed to sign, rendering it NULL. In addition, The Cannonball Raceway organization failed to liaise and coordinate with the Aviation Administration any decision making in relation to the Sandy Shores Airfield.
Our continuing mission at the San Andreas Aviation Administration is to provide the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world.
On November 5th, 2023. Cannonball Raceway failed to liaise with the Aviation Administration and began construction of their racetrack during the airfield's active hours, and on active runways, forcing the Aviation Administration to urgently close off the airspace and re-direct traffic. This was unacceptable by our safety standards and regulations.
In addition, after each event. The Cannonball Raceway staff never completed any cleanups of the venue with taxpayers’ dollars, and to add Foreign Object Debris was left on the runway. Foreign Object Debris (FOD) at airports includes any object found in an inappropriate location that, as a result of being there, can damage equipment or injure personnel. FOD can cause damage in several ways, the most notable being:
    • Damaging aircraft engines if ingested.
    • Cutting aircraft tires.
    • Lodging in aircraft mechanisms, preventing them from operating properly.
At this time, the San Andreas Aviation Administration will be investigating the negligence in utilizing the venue.

  • RACE REPORT 19/11/23 🏁

Sunday just gone, the Crowex team attended round TWO of the Cannonball Stock Car Championship race at Sandy Shores Airfield! Dominance was the aim and dominance was the result. Picture this, a cloudy day at the airstrip and a collection of hungry teams are eager to set their names into the written history of Los Santos.

Qualifying - Martini bagged himself POLE POSITION for both races whilst Winters was able to claw himself a respectable P4 and even joined Martini on the front row for the second race with a P2!

Race One - Eric battles throughout the race with Avis Miller of WeMotorsport, testing each others limits and flooring their way around the track for the entirety of the race. Winters having a difficult start to the race and dropping down to P6 before QUICKLY recovering to P3. The boys finish their rein on track for the first race as Martini P2 and Francis P3! An incredible DOUBLE podium for our talented drivers! But - they wanted more. 🏎️

Race Two - Going into the second round and Martini is out for blood. Green lights and the grid launch forwards, a good start for both of the Crowex drivers - Francis in P3 and awaiting an opportunity as Martini and Miller fight it out ahead of him. Disaster. Martini clips a concrete barrier and his car plumets towards the gravel and rocks on its side - coming to a slow and steady stop without any further inpact. Winters - the race restarts and Winters is fighting for more than just a podium, he is driving for his teammate. Winters and Miller fight it out tooth and nail, leaving a massive margin to the rest of the grid! Winters steals the P2, despite giving Miller a run for her money until the very lap!

Crowex are pleased to inform you that Martini was seen by professionals at the scene, taken for further precautionary tests and is doing really well at home. We are so proud of our very own Francis Winters, turning a devastating event into success and being strong enough to bring us yet another podium amongst the chaos!

As it stands, Crowex lead the constructors championship and Martini is closing in on Miller at the top of the board - more to come! 🤩
