Yesterday's protest at the Greg E. Joplin Courthouse, organized by ULSA and attended by LSSD. The protest was against what students consider the unlawful mistreatment of students and staff by the agency.

I write this post with strong sentiment, grief and anger. Today, while being escorted to my residence and hours after the protest, me and my security team have been ambushed right in front of my residence. All we could hear is gunshots, of diverse origin and loudness. I am safe, but one of my four bodyguards has passed away today. Oliver's nanny, our beloved María, has suffered a panic crisis and a heart attack and she is at the hospital. Oliver and I are safe, and the shooters have been captured by the Sheriff's Department, who have worked efficiently and swiftly, as they always do. This is a direct attack against what I represent: an attack against our democracy and the rule of law. My condolences go to the family of my security guard, who have lost an invaluable colleague, son, brother and grandson. I must thank, greatly, Arcani group for saving my life tonight. I am deeply moved.

The ALSDS absolutely supports the men and women entrusted with enforcing the letter of the law. While we understand the situation may be more complex that anticipated on the surface (as are most issues of legality) we also strongly believe that is what the court system is intended for, to handle disputes in an organized, peaceful manner. We will not comment yet on the investigation surrounding the recent incident and apprehension of an individual at Pillbox Hill Medical Center, but our preliminary understandings suggest that the deputies involved were merely upholding the SHAFT Act code as written by the great state of San Andreas. Perhaps the issue, if any, is with the law and not those performing their public duty of upholding it.

Still, we will await the outcome of this investigation to complete and garner ALL of the facts before passing subsequent judgement and we ask you to do the same. We wholly support the second amendment and the rights of the communities and people our deputies service, but we also cannot ignore alleged criminal activity.

Damage is not easily undone. An arrest done out of spite turning a long-standing public servant into a criminal and stripping her of her second amendment rights simply to show off a power play has still happened. There is no doubt that I will emerge victorious from court, but it's a situation that would not have happened in the first place if the deputies on scene actually gave a damn about the laws they enforce.

so trump just revoked the 1965 equal employment opportunity act which prevented FEDERAL employers from discriminating while hiring (race, sex, religious beliefs etc) FEDERAL contractors. this only impacts the DEI hiring processes within FEDERAL contracting.

it’s not an act of congress, it’s an executive order from the president & it’s not to be confused w the civil rights act of 1964 which IS the act of congress & that is what protects against discrimination during working class hiring.

Nothing new. Law Enforcement feels threatened because people want to exercise their First Amendment of the constitution.

If you do or say something Law Enforcement does not like, you will be bean bagged or arrested. The crude reality is that First Amendment is the most prostituted principle of San Andreas legislation. Our very same Courts have released decisions that severely undermine our constitution and jeopardize our rights, such as People v. Russo, which reversed the acquittal of a news reporter who was charged merely for filming at a public police station.

Hopefully, if the Sheriff's Department or any other State Agency present have some common sense, they will retire and not interfere with the upcoming peaceful demonstration.

This is the Vapid TARV (commonly referred to as an "ARV"), the Department's SWAT team (D Platoon) currently operates three. "ARVs" are typically referred to by law enforcement agencies as being "armored rescue vehicles" with their primary use being to transport tactical officers to and from hostile situations and to assist with the recovery and protection of civilians in harm's way during terrorist threats, hostage incidents, or encounters with large gatherings of aggressors. The ARV is designed to provide protection from a variety of small arms, explosives and IED threats.

Today we had the pleasure of getting one of our ARVs serviced by our partners down at the Department of Public Works who work diligently to keep our vehicle fleet running at all times.
