• This is the Vapid TARV (commonly referred to as an "ARV"), the Department's SWAT team (D Platoon) currently operates three. "ARVs" are typically referred to by law enforcement agencies as being "armored rescue vehicles" with their primary use being to transport tactical officers to and from hostile situations and to assist with the recovery and protection of civilians in harm's way during terrorist threats, hostage incidents, or encounters with large gatherings of aggressors. The ARV is designed to provide protection from a variety of small arms, explosives and IED threats.

Today we had the pleasure of getting one of our ARVs serviced by our partners down at the Department of Public Works who work diligently to keep our vehicle fleet running at all times.

  • Our teams led by Senior Technician Stark and Deputy Director Watson were out yesterday for graffiti cleanings over at Alta and Elysian Fields Freeway. One of the traffic lanes was closed for safety measures, shortly after was set open for traffic to flow again.

On a note, a service request can be submitted here https://gov.gta.world/viewforum.php?f=968&sid=951ba882c27442a4839b80623bcf31a0 for any graffiti tags needing cleaning.

  • As we wrap up 2024, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had and thank YOU, our residents, for your trust and support.

This year, our team has worked tirelessly to serve our community:
βœ… Repaired 100's of miles of roads and sidewalks to keep your daily commutes safe and smooth.
βœ… Enhanced public spaces, making our community even more vibrant.
βœ… Responded to a number of emergency requests, such as the Paleto fire, swiftly to keep our neighborhoods safe.

Your patience during construction, your feedback on projects, and your pride in our community fuel our efforts. Together, we’re building a stronger, cleaner, and more connected place to call home.

As we celebrate the holidays, let’s look ahead to even greater accomplishments in 2025. Thank you for being an integral part of our progress.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a safe and joyful New Year! πŸŽ‰

    Warm regards,
    Sophie Kaczynski
    Director of Public Works

  • 🚧 Gritting Operation in preparation of the upcoming Snowfall 🚧

A joint effort made by the employees of Public Works, lead by the Deputy Head and Head Technician respectively. Grit was spread all across Los Santos, the freeways and the entire County Side covering Paleto Bay, Grapeseed, and Sandy Shores. With the forecast of upcoming snowfall we advise everyone to take precautions and be cautious while driving.

  • 🚧 Exciting Progress on Lower Power Street! 🚧

Our Public Works team was back on Lower Power Street today, making strides toward completing long-awaited improvements in the area. We’re actively working to close up the large hole that’s been a temporary fixture, enhancing safety and aesthetics for everyone. Soon, this part of the city will not only look better but also be safer and more accessible for all. Thanks for your patience as we work to improve our community!

  • πŸ“’ - Recent roadwork on Vespucci Boulevard between Alta and Power Street

On 24th of September, 2023, our Technicians replaced the water main and a manhole access; the road was closed and the traffic was diverted to a small detour in the opposite lane. The road was excavated and the faulty water pipe was searched for and replaced. After that the roadway was restored into it's natural form and was set open for the traffic.

  • πŸ“’ - Recent cleaning of the Filtration plant of the Land Act Dam

Department of Public Works' Technicians responded to an alarm in the #1 lift tower inside the Filtration plant of the Land Act Dam. The Technicians were able to shut down the lift tower. After an on-scene investigation, a conclusion came up that an unknown citizen had thrown a few bags of trash which unfortunately made their way into the filtration tower and completely blocked the lift mechanism. Once the obstruction was removed the tower was restored to full working order. During this time no city or county services were disrupted.
