Recently, there has been a lot of talk about the ongoing court case involving the disappearance of funds collected by the Grass Roots Foundation. As representatives of the Pacific Bluffs Resort, we want to clarify the following:

In June of this year, we were approached by Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette who requested to use our event hall for their fundraiser, 'Grass Roots'. After speaking with them and researching their past work, we, like others, believed in their legitimacy. However, after hearing the recent news, we feel disappointed and deceived.

- We do not condone, support, or collaborate with any actions that seek to profit at the expense of charity.

- The standard fee for using our event venue for two hours with bartenders, food, and security is typically between 60k - 80k in total. However, for the Charity, we waived this fee as a donation to the Foundation. Pacific Bluff covered the wages of those involved, made no profit, and instead experienced a loss of 20k on the night. This is normal practice for the Resort, as we do not profit and will never profit from charitable events.

- As part of the financial logs presented in the court case, a transaction for Avery Lafayette's membership was also found. A membership was purchased in late April and later renewed. However, with the recent developments, we have decided not to renew the Lafayettes' membership in the future.

At the Pacific Bluffs Resort, we will never support the exploitation of those in need for personal gain. We feel disappointed and disheartened by this situation and will continue to monitor the ongoing court case.
