Let's give a round of applause to our amazing blackjack dealer,
Zaira Madera , for being the employee of the month for April! Her hard work and dedication to providing exceptional service to our customers have not gone unnoticed.
In order to honor this amazing success, we are publishing an interview with our lovely blackjack dealer Zaira. Enjoy reading!
❓ Can you tell us a little bit about your background, and how you became a blackjack dealer?
✔️ Zaira: Well, honestly, I've been playing poker and blackjack for quite a few years now. I was never really interested in dealing per say but I'm a gambler at heart. I remember back at Grand Rockford Casino, I became a bit of a regular there.
So when the opportunity arose, I decided to apply for this position. I love the interaction that comes with this role, being able to talk to your patrons and seeing the happiness on their faces when they win a big pot.
And to be honest with you? I've made quite a few good friends since I started dealing here. Some people called me their lucky charm, haha.
❓ And we are sure your friends love you here! What are some of the most important skills needed to be a competent blackjack dealer like you?
✔️ Zaira: I believe you have to be a people person. My interaction with my patrons makes the job so much better. I've been told that it makes patrons feel like they're just playing cards with a bunch of friends whenever they're playing with me, so I'd take that as a great thing. Being able to make your patrons feel comfortable at your table.
❓ What are some of the biggest mistakes you've seen players make while playing blackjack? And what do you suggest for them to enjoy the game the most?
✔️ Zaira: Biggest mistakes hmm— That's a good question actually. I've seen people getting annoyed quite a bit when losing. My take on it is the following. When you're gambling, you have to assume both your winnings and losses.
Personally, when I walk up to any casino game, I walk in knowing that I might lose. It's about enjoying your night and having fun with your acquaintances.
❓ Absolutely... You just said players get annoyed when losing. So tell me, how do you handle difficult customers or situations while dealing at the table?
✔️ Zaira: I personally try cheering my patrons up throughout the game whether they're winning or losing. It's my job to give them a great casino experience so my advice for other dealers is to take it slow, talk to your patrons, and empathize with them.
❓ How do you ensure fairness and accuracy in the game while dealing at the table?
✔️ Zaira: Not every hand dealt will be perfect the first time around. I've trained myself playing with friends to become as professional as possible so I just keep my eyes peeled, make sure everyone understands the rules of the game, and assist when necessary.
❓ And finally, what advice would you give to someone who is interested in becoming a blackjack dealer?
✔️ Zaira: Hmm... I'd say just give a hundred percent. Welcome your patrons with a smile on your face. I'm sure things will go great from there on.
Thank you for being an integral part of our team,
Zaira Madera . Your outstanding performance as a blackjack dealer has earned you this well-deserved recognition. Congratulations again on being the employee of the month for April! 🎉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
