As months go by, each month we raise awareness to month-specific disorders. September is known for a lot of women's health related health observances such as; Menopause Awareness Month, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) Month, and Sexual Health Month. This year, Cattaneo Women's Health would like to raise awareness about PCOS.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder common in women of reproductive age. It is characterized by irregular menstrual cycles, elevated levels of male hormones (androgens), and the presence of multiple small cysts on the ovaries.

If you suspect that you might have PCOS, we urge you to schedule an appointment with our clinic or a medical center of your choosing. While there is no cure for PCOS, there are plethora of options to manage this disorder, and while infertility is a risk, pregnancy is not completely out of question. Many women with PCOS can get pregnant and carry to term.
