San Andreas State Parks offer employment as civilian staff for those who are not looking to be law enforcement officers but still would like to have a stable workplace within a state government agency with good pay and benefit from advantageous health plans. There are several branches that applicants can choose from when applying for a civilian position within the department. The purpose of these is to help civilians pick an area within the department that they will be responsible for and that might fit their skills and interests. These branches are described on the website listed above.

- Yesterday, March 7th, 2024, the State Parks SAR Marine Unit & the SASP Air Wing, alongside the Sheriffs Department, Lifeguards & even volunteers from the San Andreas Aviation Administration responded to a MAYDAY call over the Vessel Traffic Service radio frequency about a boat stranded at sea, sinking & on fire.
SASP Marine responded to the initial MAYDAY call & quickly scrambled to create a search party in unison with the other agencies. After roughly 30 minutes of searching the seas with both Maritime & Air assets scouring the waters, the stricken vessel was located & the victims rescued without any life threatening injuries.
Thank you to our fellow SAR Operators & volunteers from every agency that assisted in the rescue!

They organized a public hiking trip across Chiliad and Cassidy Trail, involving several members of the public, including personnel from the San Andreas State Parks. During a cross over of a ridge by Raton Canyon an equipment malfunction occurred with the ropes and cables of one of the hikers, resulting in a steep slide off of the side of the canyon of several other hikers. Personnel across the State Parks and other agencies were quick to respond to the incident and offer assistance. In total, five victims were all treated on scene with three being transported to Pillbox Medical Center. Our thoughts and prayers are with the three victims whom are in stable condition and recovering in observation. On the evening of February 26th, at approximately 20:30 State Parks was notified of an incident involving the hiking group known as Chilliadians Club.
