  • The City is deeply saddened by the loss of Officer Vincent Glass, who gave his life in the line of duty during the tragic terrorist bombings on March 26th. In honor of his courage and selfless service, the Office of the Mayor has posthumously awarded him the Key to the City.

Officer Glass's bravery will never be forgotten. His dedication to protecting our community stands as a lasting example of true heroism. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

  • Today, the personnel and workers from the port brought valuable donations to the Sacred Heart Shelter. From canned food to other vital basic items and clothing, the Port put in a lot of effort to bring supplies and support the shelter residents after the recent tragic events.

The COO and Port Director, Ulf, led the short visit, and a significant amount of the supplies has already been put to good use.

The City is grateful to the Port, and this gesture will not be forgotten.

  • In the past 24 hours, Public Works has started repairs on public infrastructure along Fantastic Pl. and in the Sandy Shores area, focusing on both public and residential damage.

Most apartments are now fully accessible, with essential services like heating, cooling, gas, electricity, cable, and internet restored.

If you were unable to stay at the Sacred Hearts Shelter due to overcapacity or personal circumstances within the last 72 hours (such as family or medical needs), a reimbursement form of up to $4,000 for hotel or motel accommodations will be available within the next 48 hours via the Mayor's Office.
