Busted! Suspects in relation to an LSPD Crime Broadcast for a shooting were spotted by Davis' Special Assignment Team in Grapeseed earlier this morning. The suspects fled on foot and were apprehended by quick thinking deputies. Within the vehicle, a duffle bag was under the seat of the vehicle; a GLOCK17 handgun and a 5.56mm M16A2 automatic assault rifle were found with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The suspects were handed over to the LSPD unit that made the initial crime broadcast. Forensics, tracing and an inspection of the 5.56mm M16A2 assault rifle lead to the conclusion that the rifle was originally used by the US Marine Corps during the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. Two dangerous firearms have been taken off of our streets. #StreetsSafe
