I can see both sides of the Diversify situation, it might be worth calming down a bit for those who are getting hot headed about it.
Nudity is not inherently pornography. This is very true, though admittedly there is also a time and place for it. In an artistic magazine? Of course, but if you are promoting your professional life alongside it then perhaps its better to separate the two unless they go hand in hand - like it would if your profession was modelling.
I painted Danielle and at no point was her professional life brought into it. Time and place. You can create amazing, intriguing and beautiful portrait art without it being nude art too, so I think Diversify could have considered a different artistic angle for that specific interview. Sadly instead it has been replaced with a bland image that doesnt match their magazines vibe.
I do see a lot of complaint here about these professional values being outdated. I would argue that too much nudity makes us desensitised to it, and less is more powerful. I know thats likely going to be quite an unpopular opinion haha.
But if you read this far... Do you think the government values ought to shift with the times? If so, maybe I can paint Hank nude in the future 🤣 🤣
