  • To my friends, sorry for being too quiet lately! I've been nominated to the State BAR Board of Trustees, which to me is a honorable privilege, and I'm closer to finishing several pieces of research, which will be out in my new book soon, which sums up all my academic trajectory since the beginning of my doctoral thesis. Be proud of your achievements and, no matter how long the way is, you'll one day feel proud looking back at all you've done πŸ€

  • Tonight at 21:30, my Court will be publicly hearing People v. Sexton, and it opened the grounds for some personal thoughts. We should strongly believe in the separation of powers, and in the thought that power must always be checked. Nobody, no agency, no organization and no individual is above the law, and everyone is under its judgement. In the same way that all citizens have a right to prove their innocence, no matter how serious the crime is, so are public servants, or former public servants, and they deserve to do so in public hearings under the scrutiny of society. Society or the media are nobody to judge without a judicial officer hearing all merits. Have a good day!

  • Many laws and many reforms, but our law enforcement officers face the same danger or worse than they faced a decade ago. There are still neighbourhoods where kids roam around with guns and kill our national heroes and destroy their families. The law is fair, yet sometimes late, and sometimes insufficient.

  • I've celebrated St. Valentine's Day with the man that has accompanied me in my life, and that will continue accompanying me until the last breath, but I've also officiated the marriage of a ranger and a civilian, witnessed by a K9 and one colleague & friend of mine, Chloe Bennetts . There's no better way to spend St. Valentine's as showing your love, but also witnessing others' in a crucial moment of their lifetime. #ProudJudge

  • Tonight, I will go to bed knowing that justice has, again, been served. It will never be enough justice, though. The families of the deceased officers do not deserve to lose their loved ones while they perform their duties, heroes which are often not recognized for the work they do for us, but nobody will be able to bring them back. I extend a heartfelt hug to the families, to the friends, to the relatives and to the workmates of officer Qahtani and officer Escamilla, and I extend my condolences to the Los Santos Police Department. I wholeheartedly hope that one day they will be able to pursue their passion of saving our citizens without the fear of being struck by a barrage of bullets.
